Shock Therapy

Nowadays you can use different forms of shock therapy to cure seizures, mental disorders, and to fix unhealed fractured bones.  Unhealed fracture bones occur when the process of the bone healing is interrupted and then put to a stop.  Shock-wave therapy (SWT) is used to treat nonunion (the unhealed fractured bones) and has been proven to be just as effective as going through the surgery.  Most people saw results within the first 6 months of the treatment and also stated that they felt better than those who had the surgery.  Shock-wave therapy is supposed to be fast pain relief and to restore the mobility in any part of your body.
In the research that Hui Ye conducted, he focused on magnetic/electric stimulation and the treatment that involves deep brain stimulation (DBS).  In order to do the magnetic stimulation, they have to implant a mini coil into the hippocampus.  The magnetic field can penetrate the tissues in the brain while maintaining the intensity.  The cost of the transcranial magnetic stimulation is about $400-500 per session.  Making the total cost for all of the sessions being around $15,000.
Shock-wave therapy has a lower cost than using a transcranial magnetic stimulation to help treat seizures.  Even though shock-wave therapy is not as extreme as a magnetic stimulation, it still roughly costs about $1,000-3,000 to get it done.  One of the differences between shock-wave therapy and magnetic stimulation is that they implant a mini coil into the hippocampus for the deep brain stimulation that is needed to help stop seizures.
